Telemetry Requirements

This document contains the requirements for operation of the telemetry system
of the EMS near-space balloon project. 


SWR1 - Transmit Balloon/Capsule Location

The telemetry system shall relay balloon location information from the balloon 
to the ground station.


SWR2 - Transmit Over Distance of 50 Miles (in flight)
*****************************************************

The telemetry system shall operate over the maximum range that the balloon may
travel from the ground station.


SWR3 - Isolated System

The telemetry system shall not interfere with correct operation of the 
balloon's other systems.


SWR4 - Endurance, 12 Hours of Operation
***************************************

The telemetry system shall be capable of operating for the duration of the 
balloon flight and until the balloon is located and recovered by the recovery team.
